How to Join

Do you like music in your world no matter how busy you are? Do you usually drive or work around the house with the radio or CD’s playing, singing or humming along, tapping or dancing to the beat, coming in with the “Yeh Yeh’s” right on time?

If music is one of your interests, if it puts you in a good mood but you just have never had the right timing or opportunity to get involved, come and check us out.

If you like to sing the melody, would rather harmonize, have a very high voice or a low voice range, no problem. Barbershop music has a voice part for you to sing. Pineridge Chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International a singing organization for women of all ages who love to sing and perform.

No formal music training is necessary in order to join. We are a teaching organization. Voice training, breathing technique and music education in the barbershop arts form are provided by the Director and music leaders at weekly rehearsals.

Joining the chorus is an opportunity to learning to sing, meet new people, build your confidence to perform for friends and your community.

So come join us! As a member of this unique hobby for women, you will participate in fun activities, discover a new circle of friends who share a common interest and become a confident performer.

Rehearsals are every Monday evening from 7:15-9:45 p.m. at the Uxbridge Music Hall, 16 Main St. S., Uxbridge, Ont.

Guest Nights are held in September and often in January as well. Interested guests are invited to participate in a series of five free singing lessons. These group lessons are taught by the Musical Director and include such skills as correct singing stance, vocal production technique, correct breathing and voice placement.

Guests are welcome to attend any rehearsal, not just formal Guest Nights. You don’t have to be able to read music, as learning CD’s and sheet music are provided.
